TENTH ANNIVERSARY RETREAT FRANCISCAN RENEWAL CENTER, PORTLAND
GLORIA: The Teachers are telling me that in order for you to get more out of what you have been doing, that it is time for us to discuss, and they will help me with the answers. One of the things that I understand that I did not do adequately or properly was to prepare you with an understanding of what you were doing. But that's not all bad -- sometimes when you fumble around you do a better job.
The PERSONALITY PROFILE points out to you which of a pair of personality expressions you do most of the time, not always, but most of the time. Some people have the personality trait that they always look at the broad view and rarely look at the inner depth of something. That would be your B characteristic. Other people only look into the depths of things and don't see what's on the surface or what's beyond. They are highly, highly focused and very intense. Those would be then the D dominant.
Now the purpose in having you combine astrological data with this information of which is your dominant character trait in these pairs is to help you understand the character that you are manifesting. And the traits or issues that you have brought with you into this lifetime to deal with. Not all of us are dealing with the same issues. And having you get together the first set sun signs has no relationship -- set one is independent. In set one, out of eight cards, you found out which was the dominant trait.
I had you get together in sun sign groups so that you could reflect like a mirror to each other, because sun signs have characteristics in common. I had you gather into groups of Fire, Earth, Air, and Water, and those that had some B dominance were very much aware that the Water Group all flowed into the same place, but then they didn't know what to do when they got there. And the Earth Group purposely went over and sat down in their chairs and went to work. But the D dominant group was not aware that either of these events had occurred. All they were concerned about was what was happening in their group.
The first set didn't have anything to do with sun sign -- it was my way of separating you into groups to give you some objectivity. So Set 2 is just another way of developing a dominant trait awareness out of each pair. And having you work with the nodes was to get you to work with your issues, and again evolve some objectivity by seeing what the issues are at the other end of the spectrum.
Now, these are the nodal axes -- if this is the South Node, this is always the North Node. (Note: opposite it.) So that's why I was asking in the group, "Are you an Aquarius South Node, are you a Leo South Node," because the Leo South Node is the North Node of the Aquarius South Node -- perfect mirrors, you see. And so the Aquarius South Node could say, "Well, I deal with this issue in a certain way." And Leo would say, "Well, I deal with that issue in this way." And it shows you an objectivity. It gives you some alternatives, some options. "Well gee. Maybe I could try that and see if it works better than what I'm doing".
These issues in the South Node that you are overcoming are also pushing you to develop these North Node characteristics. So you have to flip from page to page. For example, you find your Leo South Node on the front of one page and Aquarius North Node on the back of that page.
So you want to amplify your efforts to develop those positive traits of the North Node and overcome or modify the negative traits of the South Node.
On the Personality Profile, the grand total of the 4 sets of ratings would give you a clearer perspective of what your dominant traits are, because you would have examined 32 (situation) cards. (a better sampling) There is a lot more we could do with this if we had more time.
JENIKA: I always thought that your North Node had more or less opposite characteristics of your South Node, but that isn't really so.
GLORIA: Yes, it's so in a narrow scope. But they are also complementary. ... Give us an example of an Aquarius South Node word. (rebelliousness) OK. Now give us a Leo North Node. (affectionate) OK. If you're being rebellious, can you express affection? If you are being affectionate to that person, can you express rebelliousness?
What you've been given is not as complete as it might be, but it is sufficient for you to take with you and work with to help solve your own problems. You're here to take this information and elaborate on it, expand on it through your understanding. Hopefully in your little workshops you will identify the strengths you can build on, methods to do this, and modes of operating. I hope that by tomorrow's wrap-up, you're going to be able to say to me, "Boy, I've got a new goal I'm going to work for. And I'm going to do it based on my ability to develop this strength." That's the goal of this workshop.
I divided you into sun sign groups after you had performed that first set, in order for you to get input from other similar sun signs. That's all. They have no connection .. just a means to divide the large group into small groups. You will find different things about yourselves as you move to different groups to interact with. Comparison can be made with how various group members approach the same or similar situations. With set three, I'm going to have you work with people you know real well -- for example, married couples work together. This may stir things up.
The goal of this workshop is to give you tools, not to solve your problems. And one of the tools I hope you will take away from here is an awareness of what you have to do -- not that you're going to be able to do it here. You've got the rest of your lives to do it in. I would hope that everyone will leave here with at least one goal, one commitment to one's self. For example, I might make the commitment at the end of your Personal Profile, that I am now going to balance out my pair of "depths" and "breadths", by developing more breadth based on my strength to understand such and such a situation, or to interact with my sister, or whatever, you see -- a plan of action, a place to go, a method to get there, and the fuel for the engine.
You are looking for "self initiated action". As long as you are operating out of your dominant traits, that is not self initiated action, that's program, that's response action, that's reaction. But if you are Depth Dominant, and you elect to develop Breadth, and you say, "I am going to make it a point to look for other information, seek out other people's opinion, find other sources of data before I finalize something, that's self initiated action. And you are moving into MOTIVATION, because you have established a WANT: "I want to be broader in my perspective". You're not driven by the need of security in Depth.
PHYLLIS: Gloria, I'm not sure I want to develop my vertical preference.
GLORIA: I'm not going to tell you that you have to.
PHYLLIS: It doesn't sound like a very positive thing.
GLORIA: Because you are horizontally dominant. You may like what you are. You may not elect, in this particular lifetime to do anything about that. There cannot be any mistakes -- there are no errors.
GAYLA: Perhaps sometimes when we read these, these can be looked at in a negative way or in a vertical way, and perhaps part of this is to find the area of positive that we can develop and still balance it out and be a positive on both sides instead of one or the other. (Gloria agreeing.) Because in reading it, I find some of it that sounds like yuk -- I don't want to do that. But there are none of them that are negative. It's that we can make them positive either way.
GLORIA: Sure. If you are right-handed, it's a lot easier to pound a nail with the hammer in your right hand. It takes concentration and effort and practice to drive a nail with the hammer in your left hand, and you really don't like to do it that way. But, if you were able to drive a nail either right or left-handed, you would not have to focus so much attention into protecting your right hand.
OK. Transfer that to, what are you protecting? What feelings, what emotions, what insecurity, what self image -- what are you protecting? And is it necessary to focus that much of your energy and strength in protecting that? If the answer is "Yes", go ahead -- there are no mistakes, there are no errors. But if you are going to reach SPECIALIZATION, you're going to have to move toward SANDALPHON. You're going to have to reach toward that equable status of HARMONY, a balance. It doesn't mean that because you are ambidextrous, you don't use one or the other hand. Obviously, when you're ambidextrous, you don't pound all the nails with one hand. It just makes you more versatile. It empowers you to be more effective in your own life.
SIDNEY: In Phyllis's case, she could then choose to use B when it would really be in her best or her group's best interest, and choose an H response when that would be in the best interest.
GLORIA: Certainly. But when you don't have the practice -- if you can't pound a nail with your left hand, you don't have any choice. I'm not suggesting that if you're dominant in one thing, you become totally the other thing. That's not the idea at all. The idea is to become competent in both so that you can exercise choice and do whichever is most effective. .. Now, if you're DEPTH oriented, options aren't that important. If you're BREADTH oriented, then options are more important than the solution.
OK. If you never are to arrive at a solution, how are you going to get a job, live in our society, exercise your citizenship right? How are you going to be a human being in the culture that you've chosen to live in? Remember, you chose to be here -- it's nobody's fault but your own.
GAYLA: And getting out of it isn't that easy at this point.
GLORIA: Nor is it necessarily the immediate goal.
JENIKA: Why is THOUGHT so far away (on the Wheel) from MOTIVATION and WILL?
GLORIA: Because, as the Teachers have said, what we call "thinking" is processing data like a computer. Garbage in, garbage out. Until you discover what you want to do, you are not going to come up with an original thought as to how to do it. You are going to do what is expected of you in the way that you've been taught to do, and maybe rebel at doing it and be unhappy.
The Teachers have said the Human Condition at this stage of evolution of this planet is at the Instinctual level on the whole. That doesn't mean that there aren't special people that have already SPECIALIZED.Yogananda was his specialization; Gandhi was his specialization; Mother Theresa is her specialization.
I'm not in any position to offer you any criteria. The powers that be that you made your contract with when you came in will allow you out (of the Wheel of Karma) when you have done whatever that specialization is that your potential holds. Another way to put it -- when the individual has accomplished the INTENTION of its SOUL.
I do not believe that there is anyone in this room who at this time is ready to graduate from the WHEEL OF KARMA. I think that the greatest contribution that we can make, according to what I've been told about myself, because this has sort of been a recent issue with me, if we can fulfill the whole, the full potential of our North Node, we will have completed this lifetime's PURPOSE, i.e., we will have done the best we can do with this particular life span -- the purpose for which this incarnation was designed.
It just arrived in my consciousness what I was going to put on the board last night. And it's appropriate to what we are talking about.In your astrological chart you will see a little thing that looks like that (headphones with connecting spring up). That's called the North Node. (The South Node is 180 degrees across the astrological chart.) This pathway between them is your DESTINY PATH. Now, just like any other pathway, the traveler is going to do his own traveling. A lot of people will start here (South Node). And a lot of people are going to end up here (North Node).Some will go on foot, some will go by car, some will go by donkey cart, some will go on their hands and knees -- that's called FATE. DESTINY is what you have planned for yourself. FATE is how you deal with those events, how you shape those events in your consciousness.
If I say to you, "Please go to the store and get a loaf of bread". How would you do it? Get in the car and go after it. What if you lived in Ireland? (you'd walk) What if you were black and lived in South Africa? (make the bread.) You understand? The goal is the same, the launch pad is the same, but the circumstances are what you make them. You chose to be white; you chose to be in the Western Hemisphere. You chose to be here in this room today, and that's how you are shaping the events that you encounter on your DESTINY PATH. And when you shape those events, you are finding out what you WANT. You're driven by NEED from the bottom. And you can be driven by NEED all your life. (Note: Destiny is where you’re going, Fate is your manner of travel. Karma vs. choice)
You can spend all of your life trying to survive with no consciousness of prosperity, no consciousness of health, lacking fulfilling relationships, and making only a modicum of spiritual growth. That's your choice. No error, no foul -- it's OK. But, you can take the fast train if you want to, and get there more comfortably, more prosperously, more healthfully, more joyfully -- same event, different consciousness of it, different awareness, greater VOLITION, more QUANTIFICATION OF QUALITY.
The guy that catches the fast train is an "R" (Result Preference) person. The person that takes the donkey cart and enjoys the ride is the "P" (Process Preference) person, if he has the choice. If you choose to live where there are only fast trains, you may never understand what "P" is all about.
Young Americans with two and a half kids and a 30-year mortgage -- the "R" type. Now, if you drive a Volkswagen with daisies painted on it, and you don't wear any shoes, and you go fishing more times than you go to work -- the "P" type. One is no worse than the other, just different.
If that "P" person put more "R" into his life, he'd have even more time to go fishing, and maybe a better paint job on his Volkswagen, if that's what he wanted. If the "R" person put more "P" into his life, he wouldn't have ulcers, he wouldn't have fights with his wife and a divorce, or kids perhaps on drugs. You see how we shape the events of our lives -- same events. You go from here to there -- cradle to the grave. But what you do with it on the way is what's important. And whether you are the fisher in the Volkswagen or the yuppy in the Mercedes, you're still dragging humanity along behind you, those that have neither of those things.
Every modicum of QUANTIFICATION that you add to your QUALITY as a human being adds to the overall quantification of the species. Every time an animal expresses true loyalty, not just dedication to the person who feeds him, but true loyalty, that animal is bringing the animal consciousness to a higher level of the Karmic Wheel -- increasing the VOLITION.Because it's increase in VOLITION that brings you to FREE CHOICE. A rock has very little Volition; it's just as much CONSCIOUSNESS as you are. MATTER is CONSCIOUSNESS. But it's the VOLITION that CONSCIOUSNESS can exercise that makes the difference. And what we are being taught is to amplify, quantify that VOLITION. And as long as we play the same old tape, we work on the same old attitudes, we follow the same old procedures that have always been, we're not amplifying that, you're not moving to WANT and THOUGHT.
(after checking the time) I said, and you didn't listen, that we were not going to have that kind of a meeting with the Teachers this afternoon. (Time with the Teachers had been scheduled.) That in order to help you work with the material that was given, I would make myself available to you.
GLORIA: (In response to a question Betty had about her attitude toward some aspects of her job.) I can offer you one thing that I think you are already doing, and that is your attitude of helpfulness to the people who come into your place of business that do not speak your language, but have needs for assistance. Now I have seen those kind of people walk into the post office where I deal, and they have to go away completely frustrated because no one will take the time. When you take the time to help someone accomplish his goal, you are offering more in your job than you are required to offer. So you are quantifying the quality of the service that you render -- you're not just selling stamps.
BETTY: So the pet can find loyalty to some quality of its owner rather than the owner per se. (takes it for walks, feeds it)
GLORIA: Certainly, the animal characteristic of loyalty is based on the drive for SURVIVAL. If you feed an animal, it's going to have your loyalty -- it's going to come back to you for more food. That's its survival working. It's not that it loves you. If somebody else fed it better, it would go to that person.
But here is an example, I think, of an animal that has evolved more QUANTIFICATION. In Weaverville, a man who was traveling that road all the time, drove his car over the side and caused his demise. His little dog was with him and survived. The dog would not leave that space (where the car went over). People who knew the dog brought food to him, but he would not leave where he last saw his master, the one to whom he was loyal and whom he loved. It had nothing to do with SURVIVAL for him, because the little dog finally died of exposure to the elements because nobody could get him to leave there. He wouldn't even go to the creek for water. It was a long time before he would even eat.
MYRA: Could you talk more about the "O" (Order Preference) and "X" (Context Preference) characteristics?
GLORIA: OK. There is the forest and then there are the trees. The forest is context (Note: overview) and the trees are order (Note: detail). When you get caught up in the details of something and cease to see the overview, you need to back off so that you can see the conformity and purpose that all these details are together for. Is it more important to understand the context in which something happens than it is to understand the thing that is happening.
I would hope that there are a lot of "X" people here who are looking for the context in which their life is occurring. If you were "O" people on this long holiday, you'd probably be doing the "O" thing -- out on the river in your boat. If you're balanced, go boating on the next long weekend.
You see, you're going to be dominant in the pair all the time, but the dominance will change, hopefully, depending upon what you WANT. See how important it is to know what you want. It's very well to say, "I want to be spiritual". But it's so easy to repeat the pat phrases, to use the jargon. But, if you really define a WANT with creative THOUGHT -- that's what I'm trying to give you the tools for, a bit at a time.
I hope you are here to take away something purposeful in your lives, that of course will add to your spiritual growth, will make you a "finer person" -- QUANTIFICATION of QUALITY. So that your contribution to the over-all human species is greater than it might have been otherwise, and therefore I'm going to benefit, everybody else here is going to benefit, the world is going to benefit. You can't say, "Do as I say and not as I do." You've got to do it first and set the example and say, "I hope you will do things the way I have exemplified." Otherwise, you're hypocritical, and none of us want to admit to that.
(In response to a question about opposing traits) OK. Wherever you have a positive, you're going to have a negative. If you have loyalty, you have disloyalty. If you have generosity, you have stinginess. If you're going to develop that North Node to its fullest potential, you're going to find the midpoint between those. You're not going to be stingy, you're going to be thrifty, but you're not going to be so thrifty that you can't give some of your excess to someone else. If you go all the way to generosity and give everything away, then you're doing a disservice to the people that you're giving it to because they are not doing their share in paying their price for it. Like free information usually ends up in file 13.
I do not give to organized charities anymore, because there is too much greed and too many of the dollars that go to non-charitable uses. But when there is a family in Vancouver -- there was a man and his wife and ten children living in an abandoned house where fortunately the water hadn't been cut off. They had no heat and no electricity, and they were heating only a small area for the new born baby with a kerosene space heater. And the man was trying to support this brood by getting odd jobs fixing cars. They were not eligible for public support for whatever reason -- I think they were illegal aliens, in the context of our generous government. And it was my pleasure to give that man a coat, so he could go out and work. But if I had given that coat to the Goodwill, they would have sold it to someone who may have gotten good use of it. But part of that money would have gone to support a fat cat pulling down a hundred grand a year. And I will not contribute to that -- my personal bias.

GLORIA: We will work in the same context that we were working earlier today, only this time I want you to work with people that you know real well, your partner, your spouse. ... Now, this is critique time. You have now completed three sets of the situation preference cards. Make the grand totals.
You're going to discuss your dominant type that you are most dominant in -- there will be one pair where there will be the greatest dominance. Don't be concerned now about any of the other matters we discussed -- sun signs, nodes, anything. We're just going to deal with the dominants. The first thing you need to do is to bring some equality between these traits, so that you can call on the trait that is least dominant when you need it. And you don't always have to do the same thing over and over. In answering these questions you have identified the thing that you are most comfortable doing, but it is not necessarily the thing that your intelligent choice will dictate in every situation. So you want to capitalize on the capacity of being an intelligent entity with free choice that can learn new things. So you're going to teach old dogs new tricks.
By point and counter point, this is your opportunity to say to your partner, "But hey, wait a minute. I see that this is the way you handle this situation.I do?" This is your chance with a referee. This is your chance to be honest and open with the other party in order to help them -- you're doing this with good will. This is not your opportunity to bash them. It is your opportunity to "mirror" to them so that they can see how you see them.
We never see ourselves as other people see us. Many of the people in the Circle say, "But we're afraid to talk to you, Gloria.You're afraid to talk to me?Yeah, we don't know when you're going to blow up. We don't know when you're going to get mad.Me?" (laughter) I never ever saw myself like that, but I can see now where it comes from. I can see why some people are intimidated by me. But I didn't know that until somebody told me. So you did me a gracious kindness by telling me that. So what you're doing for your partner now is a kindness -- you're trying to show your partner where they can make themselves more equable, using dominant and recessive traits.
It's appropriate to ask any question that you want. Be specific in your questions and your answers. For example, "You say I'm arrogant. How do I specifically demonstrate being arrogant?Well, you don't listen to me. You don't listen to my opinions.I don't?" Maybe the person really doesn't know that they don't listen.
Personality is what you put out here -- it's the way you appear to other people. For example, I have no intention of making anyone afraid of me. But I produce that facade, and so I have to look to what I can do to change my behavior pattern to truly express how I really feel about you. Two people can live together and love each other deeply, but still get mad as hell at each other because of the personality expressions, when maybe a little open dialogue can solve those problems.
In our exercise here, you pick the pair out of the five in which you have the most dominant trait -- where you turned out dominant in every set of cards in the same letter, for example, a "D" dominant. Your partner talks to you about that. Then you reverse roles and you talk to your partner about whatever is most dominant on his or her chart. You both learn what it is that you do that demonstrates your respective dominant personality traits. Your concern is in learning "What is it that I'm so lop-sided about?" This is your chance to work on that one.
Let's say I'm and "R" -- I'm result oriented. I say to my partner, "What I want to work on is how I can develop a sense of process. What is it that I do that sends the message to you that I want results. I don't care how you do it, the end justifies the means."
And the partner can respond, "Well, you jump to conclusions, you do something without thinking it through, you don't enjoy the touch and feel of objects, you have no sense of the preciousness of time. And you concentrate so much on the end product that you forget the people that are working with you to achieve the end product." That's the way you're going to dialogue.
The person who is being critiqued must accept what is being said. Don't say, "No I don't, no I don't. I really don't mean it that way." Be accepting. Be willing to give credence to what the other person says. You don't have to agree with it, but consider it. You may be expressing another dominant trait that says that you are resistive and rejective and don't want to hear what's being said to you.
You can ask, "Exactly how can I sense the value of time? What would you suggest? Do you have an exercise I can do, or a technique? How do you sense time? What's your experience that makes you a Processor and me a Result?" Ask how the other person does it?

GLORIA: Are you near to or have you already accomplished setting yourself a goal, no matter how small, to which you will commit yourself when you leave this workshop? (several "yes's")
You don't have to be an "X" person (Context Preference) or and "O" person (Order Preference). We want you to be able to be one or the other when you need to be. When you are totally self dominated, you will have exactly equal scores for each member of each pair of traits.
With respect to "O" (Order) and "X" (Context), when you consider a task, any task, if you're an "X" person, you consider it in the context of the whole thing, all at one time. For instance, doing the dishes. The context of doing the dishes is so they will be clean next time you want them. You don't have to wash dishes so you can put a meal on the table. OK. An "O" person will say that the glasses are washed in clean water, and the pots and pans are washed after everything else is washed. The Context person says, "Let's get the job done." Swish, swish, slosh, slosh, slam them in the cupboard, and let's do something else.
Now, how can I be more "O" and less "X". When you're doing the dishes, be aware of the fact that they're not all the same thing -- there are glasses, and silverware, and dishes, and pots and pans.
(In response to a question by Kathy, an office manager) The Context of book keeping is that the company will have a data base resource upon which to reach decisions. That's why you keep books -- so that you will know how much is coming in and how much is going out, and that they equal each other with a reasonable margin of profit -- that's the Context. The "O" part of that is that there is a double entry system, and sometimes, if you are doing your book keeping on a computer, computers get confused and maybe your second entry doesn't go where it belongs, or your mind gets confused and you misplace an entry. You have to think through how you are going to make an entry, where it's going to fit, and what purpose it's going to serve. Now, if you just make an entry because you know that when you debit "sales", there has to be a credit to "inventory" or whatever. If you know that's the system but you don't understand the overall picture of it, then you're strictly "O", and no Context. You wouldn't be office manager if you didn't understand where your job fit in the overall picture. There may be other areas of your life where you deal more in Context than in Order.
Another example is two young things in a relationship. The hormones begin to rage, and all of a sudden son or daughter comes home and they have found this wonderful, wonderful person. And Dad says, "What does this person do for a living?Who cares." The Context is hormones. The Order is, is that person responsible? Will that person treat me fairly? Is that person going to keep his word or commitment to me? That's the difference between Context and Order -- you need some of both.
SIDNEY: We decided the distinction was between emotionality and objectivity. (G: Yes.) For me, I need to put myself outside the situation instead of looking at it from a personal standpoint. Look at it from the standpoint of both the rules of society and from the inside. Another point we made was that, although we may disagree with the rules of society, religious institutions, and government, we can be supportive of our own principles, make our own rules ourselves, and be logical and objective about those.
GLORIA: (After discussion and examples of Breadth "B" and Depth "D" people.) You have to look at your dominant trait and see if there is someplace there that you need to soften up on the other side, and say, "OK. I'll do it this way this time, but next time, I'm straight arrow." Instead of "You do this to me every time." We can say, "OK. I'll do it your way this time."
(With respect to Result Preference "R" versus Process Preference "P" people.) Give me my starting point and my ending point, and I will enjoy the process because I am a Process person. But not given the beginning and ending, where are you? You do need the bench mark. You begin to recognize when Results are more important than the process of getting the results. You want to be able to exercise the "R" personality quality when it is necessary. It doesn't mean that you have to do that all the time, or become extremely that way. Under some conditions, it may be necessary to get a result immediately, and you can benefit by being equipped to go directly when you need to.
All this exercise does is to show you how you usually operate. If this points out a real lack, then you have the opportunity now to start developing those skills to enable you to use that side of the pair if the circumstances require it. But the ideal solution is to use them in equal amounts, be totally ambidextrous, which, of course, we aren't.
This exercise shows you what you do usually. If that's agreeable to you, and you can do the other when required, then you don't have to set a goal and go through a big metamorphosis. Now we have been working with five trait pairs -- obviously we are more complex than that. But if from these traits you can find one place where you can improve your life quality, then this workshop has been worth it for both of us. I don't believe that you would be here if you hadn't already achieved some degree of balance. You lock out an opportunity for growth when you are one way about things.
With respect to Vertical Preference "V" in contrast to Horizontal Preference "H" people, one of the things that brings you into this kind of a workshop is your "H-ness", your horizontal-ness. You are very ready and willing to be called upon. You are less inclined to ask for help. You are very little inclined to ask for a favor. You want to pay more than your share. You want to give more than you get. You want to include more people than just yourself. The "H" people are very altruistic people. But altruism doesn't always answer the need of the moment. If, for instance, an extreme emergency arises, and one sacrifices one's life to save the life of another, society gives great honors to that person who sacrificed himself to save another's life. Our society programs us to be our brother's keeper. Those are "H" people.
"V" people would try to see some way that the person could be saved without sacrificing one's own life -- I'm talking about extremes here. The extreme "V" person would get himself out, and to hell with the other guy. ...
One of the problems we're having here is that we're using the psychologists' words, the words they used to devise these personality analyses. And their jargon is not our jargon. If I had had time to rewrite these materials, I would have put it in the words that I use with you most often, and you would be able to better understand it. You have to understand that the psychologists' thinking is pretty square and flat. Psychologists trained in our current school of thought do not give dimension to the spiritual values -- everything is pretty much the material, physical sciences approach. Even though they are dealing with something that is pretty much intangible, invisible, and only witnessed through interaction. So they are struggling through their own miasma. They will figure their way out of the maze one of these days, and they will say, "My God, you guys had it together all the time."
We want to try and save the other guy's life and our own hide too.
BETTY: When I read "V" in here, I think I don't want to get to a lot of this. I deal with people who are like some of these things -- any suggestion is interpreted as a threat. Everything is either win or lose, or dominance and submission.
GLORIA: We are living under the Law of Dominance, and we are intended to work out the ramifications of that law, and we have to take dominance over our own space. And it is a competitive situation. We vie with each other for space all the time. We have to be "V"s or we don't sustain our own space -- we give it all away.
LEE: In my job, I can issue the instructions necessary to get a job done in a hurry, but I don't consider myself an order issuing "H" person.
GLORIA: The point is not that you are going to live in both worlds at the same time. The objective is to have equal dexterity in both worlds for use as needed.
BETTY: Lee was talking about taking leadership rather than being dominant vs submissive.
GLORIA: Let me point out that these materials were written by a particular set of personality traits with his or her own axe to grind, and I noticed that as I was typing the material. The profile of the author of this began to form for me. You don't want to take this verbatim 100%. You are individuals with free choice and reasoning minds. Let this be a guide post. Let it be a road sign or guide post offering alternatives, showing you what direction you can go. The importance is that as you work with the material, you develop some insight as to what you want to do for yourself, not what I or the author says you ought to do. There is no-one that has the right to tell you what you ought to do. The only thing that another person can tell you is that if you choose this way, you'll get there faster, while the other way will be slower and you'll have more fun. Which way do you want to go?
This just offers guide posts as to what a general level of human psychology is at this moment in your culture. Fifty years from now this might not apply. Fifty years ago it didn't. One hundred years ago everybody was expected to be an "R" (Result Preference). You got up and you went to work, the ethic was work, and time has got to pay. You don't sit around and day dream. Artists were thought to be Bohemian (with revulsion). The thought of the day was all of these should's and should not's and prejudices. "This is the only way it can be". Starched collars and whale-bone corsets, you didn't show an ankle, and now you show everything.
(break followed by healing circle -- not recorded -- Saturday evening)
GLORIA: Edie has asked me to expand on a comment I made during the healing bit that we were all participating in. Realize that you are all past thirty. Think about that thirty years of error thought, misconception, erroneous ideas that have built structures into your body -- structures of arthritis, structures of deterioration, structures of less than adequate operation of various and sundry parts. Remember that it is unlikely in the first place because of the tenor of your thoughts that thirty years or more of building these structures is going to be undone in the wink of an eye. I'm not saying it can't be done -- I'm sure that everyone here believes in miracles. I have seen miracles. But it is unlikely - - those are the exceptions that make the rule that it works.
When you are attempting to help someone, whether it's through subtle energy and healing force as we were doing tonight, or by advice or comfort or whatever, don't try to break down all of those structures in a hurry, because you're breaking bones when you're doing that. You take a person who has been hard of hearing for many, many years and all of a sudden restore their hearing, they're not used to all that noise that we're used to. It could blow them away. Do you follow me? It's like somebody taking away a belief system, somebody disillusioning you. Where are you when somebody takes that support system out from under you that you trusted? See, you trust these disabilities that you've built so tediously over the years. You say you don't want them, but if you didn't want them, you wouldn't have them.
OK. The whole idea behind establishing the difference between WANT and NEED is to get it through the noodle that what you say you want is not necessarily what you want, but may be the result of a need-driven activity. And you are need-driven to have these physical disabilities whether it's a need of the South Node that you brought with you, or a need that you evolved on the way, a way in which you shaped that destiny to achieve some end.
Now, you may say, "No, I didn't do this to get sympathy". But examine yourself a little bit. Don't you enjoy being sympathized with? Don't you like it when somebody says, "I really appreciate the fact that you are in pain". Then why do you tell people that you are in pain? "Oh, I've got such a headache." Why do you do that? Unless you want someone to sympathize with you, who appreciates the fact that you just aren't quite up to things, that they're going to be a little forbearing with you and not expect as much of you. Or maybe you just simply want their attention. Now, if they're not going to give you the attention of approval, "Gee, you did a hell of a job there, you're doing great. That's a wonderful product." Or whatever it might be. Then you get a little attention with a terrible headache. It's better to be beat on and have some attention than to be ignored.
You take away these structures that we have worked so hard to build, and you leave the person with nothing to depend on -- you leave them with a big vacant space.
(in response to a question about "red in the aura") The people that I picked to come into the center of the circle (for a healing treatment) were people that I saw danger signals in their auras, that they could benefit from our efforts on their behalf. The red (in the aura) can signify pain or tension or fatigue or long-term structures that really are not necessary.
(At this point those who would like to offer healing energy to someone in the group were asked to stand, and those who wished to receive healing remained seated. Healers stood behind the receivers.)
Now, move into the aura of the head gently. Don't rush in and grab those trapezius (muscles) and start (vigorous massage). That's what most people do. Move in gently. You don't have to apply a lot of pressure, because the most effective healing is accomplished in treating the subtle bodies. By touching the individual's body physically, you reassure the individual that something's happening. It's soothing.
One of the things that human beings do not do enough of for each other is what is called in the ape world, "grooming". We don't groom each other. We don't comb each other's hair. We don't brush each other's clothing. What we ought to do is give each other an auric brush every day.We should groom each other's aura every day, especially the people that we care about.
As soon as you feel comfortable doing so, lift the back of the head gently, gently -- let your hands kind of slide and pull up. Doesn't that feel good. (sound of purring murmurs) You sat all day with the weight of your head pushing down on those vertebrae. That is a wonderful, wonderful way that you can help someone end his or her day and move into their best sleep more relaxed.
Now put your thumbs against the base of their skull, and just let your thumbs move gently up that channel that you feel, and then take your thumbs away -- don't rub up and down. Just rub upward gently, and try not to get tangled in their hair. (demonstrating and assisting around the circle)
Don't forget that when you're treating somebody, every once in a while neutralize the energy. Like between strokes you just (rub your hands together). That makes your treatment more palatable to the individual. It also protects the person who is giving the treatment so that it doesn't go zap into the solar plexus and zoop! -- right up to the power center.
Now, never leave your subject without sort of smoothing things out and clearing. You see, when we were in the circle and I would ask for "closure", you kind of did that for me and I didn't have to do a lot of that, and it was safe to let the person go. But disconnect by smoothing the aura and stepping out of it.
Now when somebody says they have a headache or a back ache or fatigue and that sort of thing. Always come into your subject gently. Come in softly from the back center and up over the shoulders before you begin that deep massage of the trapezius, the shoulder muscles. One or two times might be enough -- you'll have to decide. Deep massage isn't necessary. What you're trying to do is to equalize the energy, to relax the tension and get the energy flowing out and away instead of in and into knots. The gentle touch is much more healing and relaxing than deep massage.
It is always best to work on the aura over the head a little bit first -- tune in. Because if the patient is not going to accept you, then you are going to do more harm going into that aura than you can ever give in help. They may have even asked, and you're willing. You see, just your intent to give is going to push energy out of your hands. And that energy has such force, that you could actually knock someone back with it. You want the body to relax and accept, so come in gently, very gently. ... Try to go with the direction of the muscle.
MYRA: Will we have a chance to ask questions of the Teachers tomorrow?
GLORIA: I don't know. The brochure said "meetings with the Teachers", and the faculty was going to be here. But I can't make any promises. My vibration has changed, the vibration of the group has changed. There has been some disorganization and some tag ends and fragmentation that I didn't anticipate. So we're just going to have to see if we can get it back together.
I appreciate you're being flexible. We have not followed my schedule; obviously we are following somebody else's schedule. And thank you all for your flexibility and your cooperation and your good will. This place where I'm standing can be a tough place to be if you don't have a lot of good will coming from out there.
We're going to talk about Hadiki tomorrow and Thought. There is not much we can grasp about SPECIALIZATION they told us, because we're not there in our ratio of VOLITION to CONSCIOUSNESS. But we are evidently on the threshold of being able to function in that step of creative THOUGHT, of real thought, not just processing data. So I know they are going to talk about that tomorrow -- they've been talking to me a little bit about that in my room.
Usually when I'm distraught about anything, I can pick up a Bible and open it at random and find some scripture that passes a message to me of what I need to think of or look at or change attitude about. You all know that I'm not essentially Christian. It's just that the Bible has so many metaphysical secrets in it that it is a wonderfully rich resource for me when I need something like that. I was rather enamored of the Bibles that we have in our rooms because of the translation and the fact that they have the Apocrypha in them. Tonight after supper I could not find anything in that Bible that I could find a message -- nothing pertained. I thought that was an interesting phenomenon, because it's really never happened to me before. Because Friday night I read it and I found a lot there. So it wasn't just the naivete of the translation. It's just that somehow things were too disjointed with me.
Now, I'm going to give you an exercise to do with your hands. This will be perhaps like priming a pump. But it will begin to program your hands to be sensitive to the subtle bodies, and to the emanations of material things. I think most of you have seen me do psychometry, and I think you would probably all like to do that yourselves. And you all can. But like anything else, you have to prepare for it.
One of the things that my Source taught me from the time I was a very, very small girl, was to massage my hands from the top down. You may have seen that that's the way I rub in lotion. Some of you have seen me press a finger to my upper lip just beneath my nose. It's a way of psychically protecting myself from the chaotic thoughts of other people, just like it is when you do this (put hands over abdomen). You do this instinctively -- babies do this. A baby will not only look away from you when you begin to criticize it or raise your voice to it, it will attempt to put its hands over its abdomen. It may flail if it is that young, but it will try.
So, one finger at a time like you're putting a glove on. And if you have lotion on your hands, that's a good time to massage the finger-nail bed and the cuticle, because there is a lot of sensitivity there, a lot of nerve ends there that play a large part in how you use your hands in psychic endeavors, in reading vibrations on objects, feeling vibrations in an aura. If you can't see it, you can at least feel it if you have sensitized your hands, and that's the way you do it. So whenever you have an idle moment, do it, but always massage from the top down. The minute you massage the other way, you will feel it. Do it once. Awful, right? Always the other way.

TEACHER: Good morning. (responses) And may your day be filled with joy and gladness. (Speaking slowly and deliberately, choosing words carefully, and enunciating clearly) We have chosen to speak with you this morning, because there are some bits of information needing to be conveyed to you. And this may be our last opportunity to address you directly.
You have studied hard. You have cracked the door into essential wisdom to fulfill your mission as incarnating entities on this planet. Some of you have the potential to complete sufficient SPECIALIZATION that you need not return to this particular human condition. Others of you will return and return and return.
So long as you are driven by NEED and do not modify your activities to incorporate your highest goals, you will remain at your Second Level, perhaps tentatively putting your toe into the waters of the Third level, but not making the leap, perhaps retarded by fear, by guilt, by self repression, and the very LAW OF DOMINANCE, which you are dwelling under in order to work out its ramifications, that the SEVEN LAWS may be dispersed and all of the experience returned to the ABSOLUTE.
In this room are many variances of a common purpose. Each of you approaches the fulfilling of your potential from your own unique starting point with your own unique set of values, with your own unique set of capabilities. Upon realizing this, it behooves you then to incorporate TOLERANCE for those who do not have as much insight as you have, and to help your sisters and brothers to gain the courage to move toward their spiritual goals instead of beating their hobby horse. Each of you has some agenda. It is for you to recognize the agenda of another.
The LAW OF DOMINANCE compels you to overlay the other's agenda with that of your own. As you offset that COMPULSION with your own PROPULSION, you bring a balance. You bring an equitable arrangement where force travels beside force, and not in opposition to each other. As force travels side-by-side with force, the overall result is exponentially increased.
Two can accomplish more together than that the sum of the individual separate efforts. Thus it is that we tell you, when there are two or more of you gathered together, you empower us to be with you in a truly productive manner. While we are always with you individually, we are not always empowered to impact your awareness so that you can receive our messages.
Sometimes we are put in a position to force some event upon you to capture your attention, or to assure you that what you are thinking is correct, or to mend a damaged self-image, or to soothe a wounded self identity. We do this with love and without prejudice in the hope that you will likewise serve each other with love and without prejudice.
You may not like what another does, but you love what that individual is, whether or not that IS-ness represents or gives expression to all of those characteristics that you admire. As you recognize that each individual is making his or her contribution to the over-all effort of QUANTIFYING QUALITY. If there were not a drop of water in the ocean, there would be no ocean. If there were not individual humans, there would be no HUMAN SPECIES.
You live in a condition of separation, of individuality, of personal space.As an incarnate on this planet, it is required of you that you mark off your territory, that you create your space and dominate it. That is not to imply that when two spaces overlap there is to be conflict, but rather that you learn how to overlap spaces while retaining self- identification, but sharing in a loving and pre-judicial manner.
When someone wishes not to listen to you, discontinue your message. When a person asks you for your assistance, whether it is to acquire knowledge, to receive love, to be healed, to receive advice, whatever kind of assistance is asked of you, you are propelled to make your best effort. It does not serve the human condition for you to say, "I cannot help you". You can always help. You may not have the advice requested, but you can hold the hand and say, "I am here to support you. Together we may find the answers that you seek." One's resources can then be the other's resources, and a third party can be sought for that advice or assistance.And remember that when two join hands, you empower us to become a resource for you. Together you may get answers from us that you cannot get alone.
In your aloneness you speak to your SOURCE GROUP, and your Source Group complies with your request. Their success depends upon your acceptance, your permeability, your willingness to accept their compassionate compliance with your request. You may ask something which must be denied you. It's alright to accept "No" as an answer.
It is alright for you to say "No" in answer when requested to do something that asks you to become a subject of DOMINANCE. You have the right to resist DOMINANCE. You resist Dominance by being your best SELF, by filling your space fully, by saying, "This is who I am."
When you run into difficulty in doing this, then you invoke KHAMAEL.If you are in a public place, and you are feeling weakened by all of the disjointed energies about you, reinforce your space by INVOKING Khamael. You do not need to say this out loud -- you can do this with your mind.
In this condition of human experience, in order to step to that rung of creative THOUGHT, which goes beyond the processing of what you already know, requires commitment, attention to what all of the negotiated clauses are in your CONTRACT. When you agree with another to mutually pursue some objective, be sure that both parties understand all of the clauses of the contract. If this is not so, you will inevitably run into the troubles inherent in the LAW OF DOMINANCE. When all parties to a contract sufficiently understand the terms thereof, the Law of Dominance works on behalf of all participants to bring about the desired result.
The desired result in any contract always incorporates new THOUGHT. That is an inevitable, because when two people make a contract, you automatically include us in your agreement. (Note: Teachers help us work out dominant factors of any contract). We do not have to agree to the terms of your contract, but it empowers us to assist you in working out the dominant factors of the contract, and doing so requires new THOUGHT. It requires functioning on that level above MOTIVATION and WANT.
And this is the level of creativity at which imagination functions most effectively. All of you have the power to make images. When images are put into some concrete form and become an icon which is a result in itself, the energy and focus is disbursed and becomes fragmented.There should not be a concrete icon produced by any contract until the end result of the contract determines the shape and nature of that icon. The icon may be a relationship. There are people in relationships who further the life of the relationship simply because it is a revered icon, when the contract agreements have long since been fulfilled.
When these feelings pursue beyond the end of the contract by virtue of old training and conditioning being the processes of thought rather than creating the new thought to create the new condition, the physical body takes on erroneous structures that are structured by guilt and by fear and by the LAW OF DOMINANCE. You cannot rid yourself and your body of these structures until you operate at that level of new CREATIVE THOUGHT built upon your MOTIVATION and your WANT, and not driven by your NEED and old training. Have I made this clear?
You had a wonderful healing ceremony last evening. We joyously celebrated that with you. However, let me admonish you that the good done then will not persist if you do not work with new THOUGHT to continue the disintegration of those structures so as to rid your physical body of its discomfort. Do I make myself clear?
This takes commitment. You often suffer physical disability because you fail to keep the negotiated contract with your HIGHER SELF. As a human manifestation you have contracted with a higher self to perform certain functions, to accomplish certain goals. Your leader has endeavored to show you what those goals may be, but it is for you to find them in reality for yourself. And do not make icons of them to worship, but targets for your aim and for your continued effort to move toward those goals...
Let me say at this time, that it will take a great deal of work on your part at that level of THOUGHT before you can consider what it is in SPECIALIZATION that is your potential. Some of you already know, and those of you who do know, now have those tools of understanding that can enable you to shape the activities that you perform as you move along your DESTINY PATH to fulfill what you came here to do. I will now entertain questions. (The above at a slow, steady, and deliberate pace, in near monotone.)
PARTICIPANT: I have a question on "new thought". Is this a new way of looking at the same thing (T: No.) or is it beyond that?
TEACHER: You process old knowledge. You may develop many different perspectives on that old knowledge, but until a totally new concept arrives in your consciousness, you have not entertained true THOUGHT.
PETER: In other words, we have to dare to be different.
TEACHER: Singular. If you are to specialize, you must dare to be unique, eccentric if you wish.
MYRA: So if we have a thought that is new thought, but if it's new to us and old to someone else, is it still a "new thought"?
TEACHER: It is new thought for you. Truly NEW THOUGHT for the individual close to SPECIALIZATION will not have been thought by another human.
JENIKA: As we work toward our specialization, what is the best indicator that we are not deluding ourselves and that we are on a path that leads to our specialization?
TEACHER: You have a power center with the Archangel TZAPHKIEL, Divine Illusion. When you are in doubt, invoke Tzaphkiel for enlightenment.
LEN: This "new thought" -- if it's new only to us, would that just be an acceptance of these thoughts from the last consciousness?
TEACHER: In your studies you have grown away from some of the earlier messages that we have given you. There is a MENTAL BODY which contains all knowledge, deposited there by RATZIEL. All knowledge! NEW THOUGHT is when you capture from that Mental Body something that has not previously been captured by one of your species.
PETER: In other words, this is Peter. (T: What is Peter in other words?) Love and joy. (T: I will listen to love and joy.) In essence, I must learn to actually tune in to my "higher self" then, and tune into the higher realms, period.
TEACHER: We certainly hope so. What have we encouraged you to do from the very beginning? (P: The same thing, with joy and love.)
JENIKA: When we are meditating, and we are doing a guided meditation like we go to our well, how do we know that it's really our guides speaking with us and not our vivid imagination?
TEACHER: That is old tape programming when you say, "It is only my imagination". How can you make an advance, how can you explore the unknown if you cannot image to yourself the activity? You cannot walk across a room without first imagining that you have done so. That's how one learns in your realm -- you see it done either in fact or imagination. How can you have technological advances when that has not been done before, if it is not possible to image it?
JENIKA: So our imagination is not counterproductive.
TEACHER: It is the most productive mental tool you can use. We have said that over and over. That is why we encourage you to do this kind of meditation -- your well meditation, your stairs meditation. Because each time that you do that, you arrive at new information and ultimately will have a new thought that will surprise you.
GAYLA: Oft times in the past year when I attempt to do that type of meditation, I find -- for instance I might go up three steps, or something, and then I don't remember anything from that point on. I don't go to sleep, but I'm just not there and I'm not aware, and I find that happening a lot.
TEACHER: Don't worry about it. You are able then to go on into a consciousness arrangement with us.
GAYLA: I felt frustration because I didn't remember anything, and so I felt --
TEACHER: We will allow you to remember when it is safe for you to do so.
MYRA: So when we go into that sort of wonderful altered sense where we're not conscious of anything -- time vanishes, our body vanishes -- if we just trust that we're in this marvelous place and allow it to be, that's a source of New Thought?
TEACHER: Yes. It is also the avenue through which we can teach you at the individual level without invading your humanity.
MYRA: In other words, the more often we do that the better.
TEACHER: So long as you do not pursue it to the length that the other sides of your life are not balanced. That is one of the reasons for the "amnesia", because if you found the "glory", you would not want to return to the mundane.
MYRA: I have found that I can reach that state far more easily when I'm in a group than when I'm alone.
TEACHER: Because you feel safer. That is your security need.
OWEN: In the area of sleep, over the past few years I have occasionally been awakened by a bell. Sometimes it sounds something like a telephone bell, sometimes like some other kind of bell. It awakens me in rather early morning. I've tried to get up and meditate at that time to see if it was a signal for that, but it hasn't proved very productive. I've wondered what this phenomenon is.
TEACHER: It is the call of what you term "the real world", bringing you back from what you term "the unreal world". (laughter) (O: It sounded pretty real, alright. Several times I answered the phone.) We got you out of bed, did we not.
PATSY: Is that the same thing as when you hear your own name, and you wake up?
TEACHER: It is your own voice calling you. Yes, it is time to return to your human world.
SIDNEY: One of the members of our group had an automobile accident which did not allow her to be here this week end, and a number of us including she herself were wondering why this event occurred.
TEACHER: Because the time had come for changes to be made in her life that she would not have made otherwise, so she took herself out of the action, so to speak.
SIDNEY: She was wondering if this had any relationship to the work she is currently doing on a book.
TEACHER: No. Except that she will now have more time to devote to her project and less call upon her energy that disintegrates her organization, which is shaky at best.
SIDNEY: And Enid told her earlier that she was going to go through a series of tests. In her pain she was wondering if this was the last one.
TEACHER: I cannot tell you that.
BETTY: Jean is also planning to go to Hawaii with a group in about four weeks. Can you give a recommendation?
TEACHER: It would be best if she did not go.
OWEN: Our study group had a very general question about the relation of the thought energy that we produce and the effect which may be on government, for example, or it may be on natural phenomena such as weather and earth changes. Is there anything further that you can say that clarifies this process, clarification that would help us in our visualization of what we might be trying to produce?
TEACHER: The process is the same. The target is different. When you are working with thought to influence the actions of your representatives, this is permitted activity because those people have put themselves in that place of fulfilling your direction, whether or not they do so. So you have the right to produce that thought that propels them in the direction you wish them to go.
When you invoke RATZIEL, you give the power to travel to your thought form. When you invoke HANIEL, you release that thought form from your control and permit it to pursue its course to the target. Depending upon what you wish to accomplish, you might invoke any of the other archangels and activate those power centers. If you want to change your legislation, you prepare in your mind the shape of the thought form. You invoke Ratziel to propel it, you invoke Haniel to release it, and you invoke MICHAEL to give it impact.
If you are working on something such as weather, which is less of an individual human product and more of mass thought product, the more people who join together to work on that, the more effective your thought becomes. And since you in general as a human species would wish for beautiful weather rather than storm, you would invoke SANDALPHON rather than MICHAEL.
MAXINE: Is it human thought that has caused our dry weather?
TEACHER: Of course. When you misuse, when you exploit any asset granted you in the human condition, you are going to lose it, and it will be revisited upon you in some manner which you will not enjoy.
SIDNEY: Approximately four million years ago the average temperature of the Earth was 18 degrees warmer than it is now. I was curious as to what thought processes brought that about at that time.
TEACHER: Remember that your planet is an entity. It has its own karma to fulfill. It has its own subtle bodies, its own consciousness, its own volition. It is a living organism. It is matter enlivened. As the bacteria on your skin might wonder why you expose it to the rays of the sun, so you as the bacteria on the skin of the planet wonder why the planet exposes you to the rays of the sun. The bacteria influence your body's actions. Your thoughts are influenced by the creatures that live in and on your body. The Earth is influenced by the creatures that live in and on her body. That living organism also has cycles as you have cycles. And there are cycles of warm and cycles of cold.
OWEN: The Earth changes that we have understood are forthcoming -- I think we have also understood are related to human action and human thought. (T: Correct.) Following Sidney's question about temperature, the Earth changes that were occurring as a process of evolvement of the Earth long before physical humanity was here, apparently were just a function of the Earth's own evolution.
TEACHER: Even as your own body in the womb starts out as a spherical gob of tissue and then begins to extrude a torso and arms and legs, so does the organism Earth planet extrude mountains, create valleys, shift the waters of its beingness.
OWEN: So then, any further physical developments are natural processes of the Earth itself, but maybe somewhat influenced in reaction to what we do.
TEACHER: Not somewhat influenced, but greatly influenced. Once your body has exited the womb of its beginning, then it immediately becomes greatly influenced by its environment, and from that it gains knowledge. The Earth is gaining knowledge from your occupancy of it. It may not like everything it learns about you. And as you enter a shower and use certain chemicals to destroy the bacteria on your skin, or you put lotion to help heal your skin, so the Earth does what is necessary to preserve herself.
KIM: Can you help me with an erroneous thought pattern that is causing pain in my wrist?
TEACHER: It is time for you to do less of that kind of work. It is time for you to rest your joints, because you are giving the substance of your body to the generation of another. Take a vacation.
MYRA: Are you Aurora?
TEACHER: You in the human condition need such labels.
MYRA: I wanted to address you. But I was thinking early on when Silverthistle first came to us there were many questions about reincarnation, and he tried to answer them and then suddenly stopped and began teaching us about the Wheel of Karma. And I'm wondering -- he mentioned that we didn't have enough information then to discuss reincarnation. Do we now -- could you talk to us about reincarnation?
TEACHER: The scope of that subject is rather expansive for the utilization of the time allotted us at this moment, but we will offer you this: While REINCARNATION is of immense importance to you as an individual, in the overall evolution of the ABSOLUTE extruding and intruding, your reincarnation cycle is less than the sloughing off a cell of your skin off your body. But keep in mind that the skin of your body needed that cell in order to be itself before it sloughed it. Without that cell the overall organ could not have functioned as fully, as capably in fulfilling its potential.
GAYLA: There is so much more to learn than we have had the opportunity to receive, even though there has been time and effort from the Teachers in ten years of learning. There is still so much to learn. How can we look forward to learning, how can we finish, if ever, how can we add to.
TEACHER: You can never finish until you specialize. And as for the relinquishment of this Channel, that is a lesson in RELINQUISHMENT to all of you. You cannot have new thoughts so long as you have a leader to think for you, and to stand in position between you and us to bring you our thoughts. It is time for you to truly grasp what has already been given, because it is simply futile for us to continue pouring into a vessel that is already full. The vessel does not know its own capacity -- you are overflowing. Learn to contain what you have.
OWEN: In one of the recent sessions, the statement was made that we would be able to discourse with you in "full awareness". (T: Indeed yes.) And that was to be answered at this get together.
TEACHER: The answer has been given.
