Tuesday Session #1 – October 5, 1982
Gloria’s Circle
Present: Lillian Able, Lillian Dawson, Margaret Fishburger, Irene Gray, Karl Lofquist, Sophia
Schur, Bill Teppola, Reta Vogt, and Gloria Ruth with Silverthistle.
SILVERTHISTLE: Welcome. I am pleased to be here with you. The energy is somewhat
weak, but we will keep working with it. We have been looking forward to this meeting to
have a study group. It also draws love and attention and support from our side.
My name is SILVERTHISTLE, and it probably would be best if I immediately
explain to you why I am calling myself Silverthistle. In my condition labels are not necessary,
for we communicate with THOUGHT. But in order to function effectively in your world, we
need something to get a handle on. The question was asked as to my name by another group,
and we will get that formality out of the way right now. The word Silver I chose because it is
the coin of your realm, and I am wearing this name in order to interact with you. And I
chose the word Thistle because of the thorny pathways which you in your condition are
required to walk. And my mission is to help you do so. So I have chosen the name of
Silverthistle as my professional name, if you will. And now I would like you to tell me what
your names are. (done as above)
Thank you. What a pleasure to meet with all of you. I'm sure we will have a very
good time together. And now I am equally sure that you are curious about me and my
relationship with my INSTRUMENT. First conversation will deal with the subject firstly to
describe what is going forward at this very moment.
As Gloria takes her consciousness of the present into another realm of
consciousness close to her physical body, and when the energy is right, then I can control her
breathing, and the other autonomous processes of the body continue in accordance with the
unconscious indicators.
My voice is partly mine and partly hers. The wind from the lungs must come
through her voice box, but the impetus for the words come through her brain. I discharge
electrical impulses in the tube that is the center of her brain which sponsors word responses
to the thought which created the (word). And sometimes, in order to get a particular word or
idea across, I sponsor individual sounds which when put together in syllables form words
which are not part of Gloria's natural vocabulary. But it is effective in getting the message
across usually, although sometimes I have to repeat or reword in order to clarify it.
As an individual, I am a person every much as you are, except I do not inhabit a
flesh body as you do. If you stop to think, you will recognize that there is a person in you that
sees you do something or say something that is not you. There is that personal energy within,
that has a body, and as a matter fact, you have numerous bodies that will be explained.
In time, as the lessons go forward, you will come to learn more about the world
which I inhabit and those who are with me who come to teach you.
My personal history is that I was trained in a Campbellite (Temple) of Initiation
in South America in an ancient civilization that traveled there from the continent now called
Africa. But at that time there was not as much ocean space between the two continents as
there is now at the present time.
The ANCIENT TEACHINGS are still valid today, and it is my profession to be a
communicator with your world to bring these teachings to all of you who would hear them.
But I was assigned, if you will, to work this portion of this continent rather than in that
portion where I received my training. If you would like, at this time I will try to answer any
questions which may have arisen in your mind. And I also beg your patience while I give my
Instrument's lungs a little rest.
STUDENT: Do you come with any preliminary message tonight for consideration?
SILVERTHISTLE: Only that the teachings cannot begin until we hear and are assured
the group is stable and on-going, because it does take energy to promote this kind of
interaction between our two worlds, as well as consideration for the other things that both the
Instrument and we have to do. Does that answer?
STUDENT: How can we help you to make it easier on you and our Gloria?
SILVERTHISTLE: Practice only. It is always difficult in the early stages of a new group,
because the energies have not melded into a solid core. As we go along and time follows time,
the communication becomes more fluid and more fluent.
STUDENT: Have you returned to this Earth in human form since your original departure
from the Earth?
SILVERTHISTLE: Your question is somewhat ambiguous. Yes, I have been incarnate in
the flesh many times, but this time I am not in the flesh. But since I have been through the
fleshy world so many times, I gained the necessary characteristics which enable me to
understand the problems you encounter as flesh-bound spirits, and thus from my realm I am
then in a position to help you free yourself from the bonds of flesh.
STUDENT: May I ask you a question, Silverthistle? Wouldn't it be easier for Gloria if you
used shorter sentences? Then she could breather more easily.
SILVERTHISTLE: The length of the sentence does not have to do with the amount of air
being used with which to speak. It's a matter of economy.
STUDENT: Would it help to rub our hands and point the energy towards you?
SILVERTHISTLE: I think that it would be a benefit to all if we had a little healing
service. Do you all agree? (Agreement expressed.)
Very well. Rub your palms briskly together and visualize the blue and green
energies. That is good for now. Rest and verbalize and bring into the circle those loved ones
for whom you would bring healing, including the Instrument. (Members in turn gave names.)
STUDENT: How about myself?
SILVERTHISTLE: Absolutely, include yourself. Never fail to claim that which is your
rightful heritage.
Now you can continue putting people into the healing circle. But again rub your
hands briskly. Visualize the blue and green energies as you turn your palms toward the
center of the room. See the blue and green energy gathering together in a huge ball of
vibrant healing, and those whom you have brought in are covered with this beautiful brilliant
light, and their tissues are made whole. Their spirits are strengthened, and their hearts are
encouraged.
And as you do this thing, you are performing one of the most important acts of
humanity. You are loving another. And as this service is performed, the beauty that is
created in our world is indescribable to you. But we too are healed by you and your energy of
love. For this we bless and thank you. And so it is. And it is done. As you can tell, there is
more energy now. Things are more fluent. We thank you and thank you and bless you with
our love too.
STUDENT: Silverthistle, are you going to be our teacher from now on?
SILVERTHISTLE: I am the GUARDIAN OF THE GATE. It is my duty to protect the
Instrument from being used in the wrong way by the wrong people, that is to say, from our
side, for windows such as this are few, and those here that are very attached to the Earth
realm will seek to come through whenever such an opportunity is presented. Therefore, I am
given that responsibility to protect the gateway and allow only those through who come with
love and truth and purpose. From time to time I will be giving you instructions. Probably at
first I will be the only teacher, but as time goes on, those of higher understanding and greater
inspiration will be brought to you to lead you along the path of enlightenment. And that will
happen when you are ready for it to happen.
STUDENT: Could we as a group build up more energy and solidify, so to speak, by having
a meeting by ourselves and studying?
SILVERTHISTLE: That would indeed be most profitable for you, especially as you
discuss and sponsor thought and creative energies among yourselves.
STUDENT: Are there many other guides like yourself working all the time?
SILVERTHISTLE: Yes indeed. There are many of us, but the many are far too few --
there is such distress in your world. Your earth life is so jeopardized at this time that there
are not enough instruments available. There are those of us who would come to you more
often, but your consciousnesses are not sufficiently developed to pull us through on your own.
At this time in race understanding most teaching from my realm comes through in this
physical manner. (Though) it is obviously inadequate to the needs, we can but meet the
demands whenever and wherever we can.
It is an unfortunate situation that, although there is printed material available for
study in your realm, it is not sufficiently widely distributed, but that of course is because the
race itself is not ready to recognize what it is doing to itself. But groups such as this move to
create or bring into focus those energies that help to offset the powers of destruction. As your
lessons progress, you will come to understand more fully about the epochs and cycles of life,
the rise and fall of consciousness. And you will be better able to deal with that which is
occurring in your world at this particular time. It behooves man in the planetary earth
sphere to learn all that he can about himself, for it is through self understanding that
consciousness is raised, and love becomes reality instead of a fancy dream.
STUDENT: Silverthistle, have you been on many other levels of understanding?
SILVERTHISTLE: Let us begin now to speak of SPHERES rather than levels or planes.
Levels and plane s imply three dimensional figures, which of course is natural to the planet
Earth. But in actuality all things that are possible or potential knowledge for you are
spherical, including consciousness spheres. And to answer your question, I am limited in
certain ways as are you, inasmuch as I am serving planet Earth people. I am subject to time
and space, but not with the barrier of flesh as you are. I do not know any more about my
future than you do about yours, with certain exceptions.
I have been taught certain Universal Laws, within which I can work, which are
not available to you. But that is the purpose for which I come, to make these Universal Laws
at least a glimmer in your consciousness, that as you grow, you come into dominion over your
life as you are intended to have. As the lessons go along you will then become sufficiently
(informed) to understand some of the other spheres which comprise my world as well as the
other spheres which comprise your world of which you know nothing.
STUDENT: When you mentioned that you are limited as in the same way as we are -- is that
setting your own limitation?
SILVERTHISTLE: Not entirely, except that my nearness or my choice of dwelling in this
sphere, which is most nearly akin to yours, but I am subject to law that supersedes my
personal choice in some things. For instance, you in your flesh body, you are subject to
certain physical laws which cause you to be able to walk upon this surface of your planet
without falling off into space, but when you understand that law, you can supersede it merely
by jumping. Your race of man has also uncovered certain other laws enabling him to
supersede the law of gravity and other such laws. TIME and SPACE are governed by
universal laws, and some of those laws I also am subject to. But some are superseded by laws
which are effective only in the non-flesh state in which I dwell. There will be more about this
as you get into the study of the constitution of your materiality and the laws which govern the
physical world of which you are a part, but the subject is too complex to be dealt with right
now.
STUDENT: Silverthistle, may I ask, do you have a choice of any kind when you come back
in the flesh?
SILVERTHISTLE: (REINCARNATION) There are certain laws that govern whether or
not you will return to this flesh world or whether you will best accomplish your purpose in
some other spherical conditions. There are other perspectives in which you can fulfill the
nature of your being and thus comply with DIVINE LAW. As we will study Karma and
Reincarnation, these laws will be brought out and discussed, and the process by which those
choices are made either by yourself or by those of higher authority.
STUDENT: Do you think we could go into the study of reincarnation while we are studying
together?
SILVERTHISTLE: There is very little likelihood that we could avoid the subject. It is
part and parcel of life itself.
STUDENT: Are we going to start with karma?
SILVERTHISTLE: Since this is our introductory orientation meeting, the program of
study has not been established for this particular group. I will have better information at our
next meeting as to what you can expect.
STUDENT: Do you move from sphere to sphere with the increase of knowledge that you
acquire as you go along?
SILVERTHISTLE: That is one way that it occurs, but there are automatic circumstances
as well. For instance, examine the life which you have lived in this flesh body which you now
occupy. That body has gone through numerous cycles of replenishment. As cells die off and
cells replace them, and that's automatically in accordance with the laws which govern your
physical make-up, you have passed from the sphere of childhood to the sphere of adolescence
to the sphere of adulthood. But if pressed, it would be difficult to site that instant in which
you passed from childhood to adolescence.
As your store of information and memory has been filled through education and
experience, you have passed from the sphere of innocence into the sphere of naiveté, into the
sphere of non- innocence. And if pressed, you would find it difficult to say at what instant
some particular understanding arrives. You can cite that instance in which your fleshly body
emerges from the womb of your mother, and you call that birth. And you can site that
instant in which that flesh body is no longer animated, and you call that death. Because of
certain laws governing your existence, you do not remember the spheres dwelt in prior to that
instant of birth, nor can you readily move into the sphere of that dwelling past death,
although both are existent even at this moment. (TIME) So it is that I can tell you when I
have passed from one sphere to another, for there are many spheres.
Does anyone else have a question they would like to discuss at this time?
STUDENT: Studying specific subjects, will we be able to ask questions that will help us
with our earthly problems and have growth from it?
SILVERTHISTLE: Most certainly so. It would be of little value for me to discuss endlessly
if it were not to give you something which would enable you to perform your task in this flesh
world more effectively. As this is a group enterprise, it would take too much energy for the
psychic functions to start the questions from your mind. Thus it becomes imperative that you
verbalize your question, not only for my benefit, but also for the benefit of other members in
the group, for it is rare there is an answer to one human problem that does not also bring in
what is meant to another. (Tape apparently ended at this point.)
