Tuesday Session #8 – February 15, 1983
Gloria’s Circle
Present: Nellie Yerex (hostess), Russ Braden, Mr. & Mrs. D. K. Paul, Karl Lofquist, Reta Mae
Vogt, Peggy Muldoon, LaMar Bell, Lilianne Dawson, Sophie Schur, Gloria Ruth Rivers, and
Silverthistle.
SILVERTHISTLE: The connection is not good tonight.
STUDENT: What can we do to make it better?
SILVERTHISTLE: Be one in mind and heart.
STUDENT: We are very much interested in our study.
SILVERTHISTLE: So we know, but the energy must be right.
STUDENT: I understand. ANOTHER STUDENT: Could we have the healing service and
maybe create an energy that way?
SILVERTHISTLE: You are not prepared for that yet. Be silent for a moment or two.
Breathe deeply several times.Develop receptivity. Now join your voices in the Aa Oo Mm
three times. (group complies)
That is helping to control the breathing. Would you please repeat three more times.
(group complies)
That is much better now; thank you so much.
STUDENT: Well, we thank you, Silverthistle.
SILVERTHISTLE: And we bring greetings from all of us to all of you. We have been very
interested in what has been going forward with you in your meditations. We have found that
last session was beneficial to all of you. As we come close to you in your quiet times, we have
found more expertise. The concentration has seemed to be a great deal better. Do you not
feel that this is so?
(Voices assent)
It would perhaps be well that we include a guided meditation for you in each
session.
(voices agree)
(This would be) in addition to the healing service which is in its own way a
meditation also.
Again, the decision has been made to withhold the formal instructions due to the
instability of your group, but it is hoped that you will come to an equilibrium shortly.
STUDENT: Yes, I wish we would settle down. I'm getting anxious to hear what Judith has
to say.
SILVERTHISTLE: I should at this time perhaps inform you that Judith will not be
coming to this group. It was at first determined that she would give her instructions to both
groups at this time. However, it has been decided now that your teacher will be ANNA.
Inasmuch as some people in both groups are studying both materials, it is now thought that
this would be more productive not to repeat the same information twice. Therefore, Anna
will come to you as soon as you are prepared to receive her.
It will be her duty to instruct you in MODES OF FAITH and perseverance, to
deal with your spiritual activities as they pertain to focus in the material realm. JUDITH
brings to you the essences of COSMOGENESIS, or the birth of your universe. It would seem,
then, that the decision is that from the one you get the information starting at the top, and
from the other, the information starting from the bottom. And at some point in your
enlightenment the two shall meet, at which time you will be taken then into another step of
your INITIATION.
We are greatly pleased with those who are participating in the study of the
TAROT, for that is another step in the process of Initiation. These steps which you take
under the tutelage of Judith and Anna are preliminary steps, but they lead you to the real
essence of Initiation while in the Physical Realm, and will go toward assisting you to go
through the Initiation in triumph.
When the time is propitious for me to do so, I shall be relating to you those
principles as set forth in your HOLY SCRIPTURE as I have done so for other groups. Thus
I shall also participate in your instructions. Not that our discussions are not inclusive of
instructions, but it behooves you to understand the guidance which has been given you in the
light which brightens the world in which you now live.
As you follow the precepts through misinterpretation, you increasingly darken
your own world, and it is our intent to bring light into the darkness by assisting you to raise
the level of your consciousness to where you can then, through your intuitive powers and
through spiritual enlightenment, deduce for yourselves the meaning which lies in the signs of
the times all about you.
Humankind, as it is evidenced on the face of this planet at this time, is coming to a
transition which entails great traumatic experience. If you are to come through with any
degree of success, you must become enlightened as to the higher meaning of the experiences,
or you will necessarily be forced to go through them again and again. As the cycle of
REINCARNATION takes the individual through many varied experiences which are, in fact,
repetitions of past error, so do the entities of larger scale repeat their cycles until they become
enlightened also. As the whole is comprised of many parts, it cannot be any greater or more
enlightened than the sum of its parts. So it is with the whole of humanity.
Until all parts which comprise HUMANITY have become enlightened, humanity
will continue to repeat its cycles of tragedy. No light is ever lost no matter how minute it
appears to you, and it is illusion only that light is lost when the flame is extinguished. The
potentiality for light remains. A lamp is a lamp whether it is burning or not. Thus you are
lamps in your consciousness and your understanding.
Whether you have the ability to express what you understand is not important.
The understanding itself is what is important. For the understanding emits its light in time as
the lamp does. A lamp burns under certain conditions. There are necessary ingredients for
a flame to be visible. There are equally necessary ingredients for the flame of spiritual
enlightenment to become visible. But your individual personal enlightenment becomes visible
in the deeds in your daily life.And this is the subject of this night's discourse: The
Importance of AFFECTION and APPRECIATION.
In the lessons of the Beatitudes you were given instructions on TOLERANCE. If
you are to receive mercy, you must be merciful. I bid you read and study that Beatitude with
great sincerity and open-mindedness. You must not turn away from that which appears ugly,
revolting, undesirable, simply because it offends your sensibilities.
You must try even as much to appreciate what appears to be ugly as you
appreciate that which appears to be beautiful. UGLINESS is only that which is a fragment of
a perfect whole. Intelligence can only express that level to which it has grown. Ugliness is at
the level of ugliness. There are creatures on the planet Earth which appear to be ugly, which
cause revulsion. Depending upon the turn of the mind, a lizard perhaps might be offensive,
or a frog, or a worm, or some other such creature. But it is a part of the perfect whole and in
its own way is beauty.
Now it may not seem to you that a human creature with distorted limbs, distorted
mind, or distorted character would be a thing of beauty. But you must develop the capacity
to see the beauty represented by such an expression.
AFFECTION is an essential for the growth of the personality, not only in human
but in all living things and regardless of appearances. On your planet everything is living,
whether or not it appears to be inanimate. As this is true in your physical reality, so is it true
in all realities. There is no death. That which you fear most is only an ILLUSION. Without
affection, without appreciation, the EGO SELF does not grow its highest potential, and thus
in your slang, short changes its soul body.When you have not affection for yourself, when
you have not appreciation for your own gifts, you short change yourself. When those about
you give not of their affection to you, give not of their appreciation to you, they are not only
short- changing you, they are short-changing themselves, for that is one of the gleams from
the lamp of understanding.
In your own mind you will come to understand what is meant by affection and
appreciation. If you will look into your daily experience, how often is it found that someone
can be truly joyous for you in your success or triumph. How often is this a pure emotion
untinged by jealousy, envy, or greed, but in fact is often given expression colored by malice.
Sincere compliments are rare and truly come from the highly evolved. Thus the more you
practice giving pure affection and true appreciation, the more you increase the value of that
to which it is given, and the greater understanding is yours.
This is one factor of true SPIRITUAL EVOLUTION. This goes beyond the
injunction to "love thy neighbor" as it is interpreted to love that which is Christ-light within.
When one said, "I do not love the appearance, but I love that which is the Christ within", you
are withholding true affection and true appreciation. That is not to say that you can tell
something ugly that is not ugly. Until you can find it in your heart to see beauty rather than
ugly, you will not have reached that level of evolution which is the true spiritual aspiration
held within the terms of affection and appreciation.
If you find this lesson difficult, try to become aware of what you consider real
BEAUTY. In your daily lives widen your focus that you see the beauty in the raindrop on the
window rather than the fact that that is a representation of large quantities of water falling
upon your head when you go outside the door. Do not complain about your weather, but see
the beauty in the parts thereof. As you practice this, you will be able then better to practice
this principle as it applies to other things in your life, and most particularly to yourself. Thus
ends my dissertation for this night. I will entertain any questions you may have at this time.
STUDENT: Your lesson was so complete in everyday living and our progress in every way,
I find it difficult to know what to ask. There's so many things to ask.
STUDENT: Did I understand you to say that we have some earth changes ahead? (Tape
became silent as Gloria Ruth had traumatic interruption.)
