Tuesday Session #10 – March 15, 1983
Gloria’s Circle

Present: Nellie Yerex (hostess), Lillian Able, Russ Braden, Mr. & Mrs. D. K. Paul, Bill
Teppola, Karl Lofquist, Reta Mae Vogt, Peggy Muldoon, LaMar Bell, Lilianne Dawson,
Gloria Ruth Rivers, with Silverthistle and Anna.

SILVERTHISTLE: (We will entertain questions) of interest to all -- something
that has puzzled you either in the presentation or in your own life. But we would
avoid these personal questions which do not pertain to all.

D. K.: Silverthistle, I've always been puzzled by this business of homosexuality,
and we are bothered a lot by it these days. Is one of the causes the fact that a person
might spend several lives as a woman and then change over to a man and still feel
something of the urges or actual inclinations of a woman -- is that involved with it?

SILVERTHISTLE: (HOMOSEXUALITY) Yes. That is involved to some extent.
In the beginning of the conception there is a genetic decision as to the naturalization
of the embryonic cell, so that one gender or the other is more likely to be produced.
However, the INDWELLING SPIRIT, the entity which claims the embryo may not
yet (have) clearly in its mind the decision as to which gender will prove most
beneficial to its life span. Thus, as the embryo matures and produces the various
parts of the body, it is influenced by the thoughts of the mind of the indwelling
spirit. As the thoughts are centered about feminine aspects, certain hormones are
produced within the embryo. Then if there is a change or uncertainty, and the mind
does contemplate the masculine, there are those hormones then produced, and the
body consciousness then becomes confused. This then sometimes produces what is
known as the HERMAPHRODITE, and the indwelling spirit then remains confused
throughout the life span.

As a child is growing up the hormonal balance can be influenced by the
thoughts around it. When there is confusion and the child is drawn both to
feminine and masculine, the body consciousness of the cells remains confused as
well, and thus these are very confused and wondering persons. They are to be pitied
rather than censured. However, there are those who choose this as a life style which
are not so afflicted in the body consciousness. D. K. Thank you.

The lack of questions makes me believe that you do not ponder things
between sessions.

RUSS: I do have a question, Silverthistle. Our current psychology seems to
think that impulses that we have that arise in us are harmful to us basically. But I'm
wondering if that is really the case. In other words, is an impulse that we get good or
bad?

SILVERTHISTLE: (GOOD OR BAD) There is no such thing as good or bad
except in the way our consciousness allows it to express. IMPULSES rise out of the
deeper consciousness. As you attune yourselves to your higher consciousness, your
impulses will naturally be of the higher order. As you live in the lower
consciousness, the impulses can be destructive impulses. Through objective
observation of the destructive impulses one can learn to control that side of nature
and develop higher consciousness which is the aspiration of spiritual man.

D. K.: Silverthistle, you say the lack of questions makes you think that we do not
ponder upon this. That's very far from the truth. I have so many questions that I don't
want to dominate these sessions. There are many people around here, and I have to yield
my curiosity to their claims. It's not because we do not think of what you are saying.

SILVERTHISTLE: I am very happy to hear that.

LAMAR: I have a question, Silverthistle. I think it is accepted here on this planet
that many people have physical afflictions due to Karma which they are paying for some
past life. My question is, can that Karma be repaid other than through physical problems
by doing service to other people and other means such as that, rather than (through) the
physical problems?

SILVERTHISTLE: As you have been given before, the physical out-picturing
represented by the body represents the inner-mind and the conflicts and
disturbances which dwell there. KARMA is simply the carrying forward of these
conflicts and disturbances. As one raises one's consciousness and develops self
understanding, these conflicts are resolved and the disturbances quieted. It is not
the retributive thing of which you speak. One does not serve penance through
limitation, but that the body becomes limited by the limitations of the indwelling
entity. In overcoming these limitations, these obstacles, one grows. Thus, the next
time around these limitations are not present, and thus the body is not limited. Any
thing that you do that raises your consciousness and develops self understanding
serves to resolve these conflicts and quiet these disturbances. And thus you can
experience total HEALING in the physical body as there is healing within the spirit.

SOPHIE: You commented before that the Bible is a very occult book. Are many
of the stories in the Bible symbolic or factual, for instance the story of the crucifixion?

SILVERTHISTLE: Some of mythical, allegorical, metaphorical -- the story of
the crucifixion is a story of compilation of many events.

SOPHIE: Actual events? Physical?

SILVERTHISTLE: As given before, all of life is an out-picturing of the spirit
within. All truths are reflected in the events of your everyday life. Myth and legend
are all rooted in factual events, people, and time. But when you find an aggregation
of teaching, you will find that they are also an aggregation of events. Singular
people are often the complexity developed by combining several different lives.

D. K.: Is the object of meditation to get the intelligent mind absolutely still so
that it does not intrude or block the thoughts or impulses coming down from a higher
source? I've heard it said that they compared the brain to a drunken monkey, and it just
jumps around all over the place. I've tried in meditation to make this brain stop
chattering away, but it still keeps on. It's obviously difficult. Is that the right object of
meditation, to keep it quiet and open up the consciousness?

SILVERTHISTLE: That is not the object of MEDITATION, but the process by
which it takes place. It is not the brain which interferes, but the LOWER MIND
which is concerned with daily living. The act and process of meditation assists you
in setting aside this concrete mind and thinking in the abstract mind through which
inspiration comes.

STUDENT: Silverthistle, in connection with meditation, in order to quiet the
active mind the gentleman just spoke about, is it proper to use or would you recommend
using a MANTRA?

SILVERTHISTLE: That is indeed an excellent way -- anything which allows you
to focus the attention of this lower mind, to keep it on track so that it does not
wander to other things. Remember also that the sound of your VOICE is creative.
In the words you speak, you create your world and your environment. Inasmuch as
Anna has a rather lengthy dissertation for you this evening, I shall at this time
conclude this discussion portion and retire.

ANNA: Hello, beloved friends, brothers, sisters. I greet you this night in
love and in the name of God. I come this night to tell you about this earth you have
inherited, those earthly possessions which you treasure so much. This EARTH has
been given to you to dig out its truths and its treasures, its elements and its
resources -- to combine them and recombine them into richness for yourself. In a
way, the Earth is a temple, even as your body is the temple of the indwelling spirit.

In days gone by, man has built temple after temple in honor of whatever
god he may have worshipped at that time. But always the temples have been things
of beauty, as perfect as man could make them. And as your archaeologists have
discovered, ever and always there were treasures hidden deep underneath the
TEMPLES in secret chambers within, often times built directly into the foundation
of the temples. In your scripture you are told of KING DAVID, who seeing the
temples of other religions and other worshipers, yearned to build a temple in which
to worship his god. And while he was instructed that he was not to be the builder
himself, he was inspired to draw up the detailed plan of his holy shrine. And it was
given to him to find the resources, the money, the gems, the stones, the precious
metal with which the temple was to be built. Even at that time the temple that was
being used was a tent of skins, old skins, and still portable -- hardly a thing of
beauty but certainly made of the resources of the Earth.

In his sincere desire to build this temple of beauty to honor his god, King
David even gave of his own wealth, of his own gems, jewels, and precious metals.
We are told that the temple was built in a perfect CUBE, an allegorical
representation of perfect man. A cube is the same whether you look at it in the front
or in the back or from the top or from the bottom. And so will perfected man be
perfect in all his aspects. And as MAN becomes perfected, so becomes the body
which is the temple in which he worships his own being.

Going further into the SCRIPTURES you are given a vision said to be
that vision of JOHN -- the vision of the perfect city, the NEW JERUSALEM. And
as John in his visionary state writes of this beautiful city, he sees it coming down out
of the sky and settling upon the Earth. And its foundations are precious gems, and
each of the twelve gateways, a single perfect pearl. So here we have a divine
mystery. How could the stones of the earth come down to the earth in this beautiful
city without first having been raised to some higher level? And the mystery is
solved as you recognize that it is your duty and obligation to dig out and appreciate
the elements and RESOURCES of this Earth which you have been given, to be
raised to higher consciousness as you understand the things of this Earth.

As you achieve the DOMINION over this Earth which has been gifted to
you by your Creator, it is well for us to look to the GEMS in the foundation of the
city, for they represent those things which you must dig out for yourselves and raise
into a higher level of appreciation. The symbology of the PEARL is beautiful to
behold. One wonders where a pearl might come from that is large enough for a
man to walk through. Perhaps it is the other way around -- perhaps the meaning is
that man must humble himself, discard his puffery, become small enough to enter
the New Jerusalem through the gate of a pearl. And how may this be done?

What is a pearl? In the lowly oyster, resting calmly on the ocean bed,
something intrudes, something abrasive and painful. And out of the substance of
itself the oyster surrounds that intrusive abrasion with its own substance causing it
to become smooth and non-painful. And then in the ultimate sacrifice, it gives up its
pearl to a higher being as man takes the pearls from the oysters to put them to a
more diversified use in which they serve to bring greater appreciation, thus serving
a higher purpose.

So man, as he feels himself invaded, as abrasive intrusion enters his life,
he must surround this intrusive abrasion with the fluid of his own substance
creating something of beauty which ultimately will be given up in the ultimate
sacrifice to adorn the body of God.

Now, in the foundations of the New Jerusalem we are told there are
twelve stones. The first foundation is that of JASPER. Jasper is the stone that
represents the irresistible beauty which draws consciousness to it, the beauty of
spirit -- perfect in proportion, in purpose and grace. Jasper represents that level of
consciousness that knows that at the foundation of all LIFE upon this Earth lie
ORDER, HARMONY, and GRACE.

And in the second layer of foundation we find the SAPPHIRE. The
sapphire represents the setting free of wisdom to express. This is the level of
consciousness that knows inspired thought must not be quenched or repressed. It is
also the level of consciousness that listens to the words and thoughts of others with
love and patience and understanding. There is much wisdom hidden in the minds of
man, unreleased because there has not been the ear to hear with patience and
understanding.

In the third level, in the third foundation we find the CHALCEDONY,
the stone of LOVE. This is the level of consciousness that knows SPIRITUALITY
can only be built upon a foundation of wisdom. One thinks he is giving love and
reaps pain and discord. It is because love is given without wisdom. Love given with
wisdom is joy. (Ed. Unconditional love.)

On the fourth level foundation we find the gem EMERALD. This is
representative of victory over turmoil. Turmoil is the result of divided mind, of
giving belief to opposition, doubt, fear, treachery, and wrong doing of ourselves and
of others. This level of consciousness gains victory by concentrated focus solely
upon truth.

The fifth level foundation we find the stone SARDONYX. This is the
signet stone, representative of ambassadorship, of authority. This means that it
must be plainly seen what you believe -- not that you move your beliefs about, but
you let it plainly be seen by the increase in order, harmony, and peace of your lives,
by the increased intelligence, insight, and compassion -- evidence of the work that
you do.

And in the sixth level of foundation we find the stone now known as the
CARNELIAN. (end of transcription)
