On Individuation 8/4/10
As you have been told, no two things are identical. The Intention of Individuation is to accent the differences in order to provide the Universe with greater variety. It is in the human instinct to gather in groups, well known as the “herd instinct”. Psychologically, humans need each other for support systems of all kinds, just as any other earthly kingdom. There are exceptions, of course, which is part of the individuation process, but mostly you will find flowers growing best when in the company of other flowers of their own kind. This is provided for by pollination and humans take it as a normal and necessary part of the perpetuation of a species or sub-species without realizing that pollination is part of the Individuation by Intention.
So it is with humans, who flourish best when in the company of like kind. This is not meant to be specific to color, race or gender, but like kind in matters of intellect, emotion, goals and the need for perpetuity and support. Consequently, you find members of your community ganging together for a variety of purposes: some of highly elevated goals according to your moral standards, such as church going. Others gang together to promote their power such as street gangs and criminal organizations. In between these two, you find an immense variety of reasons why people gather together.
You are all well aware of the power generated by a group will or mind, and ordinarily this is productive and beneficial, but there are those who have found it to be purposeful for their own gratification and carry it to extremes non-productive to the overall good.
As a singular entity, however, humans will benefit most by celebrating their differences, combining talents while remaining individuals. It is a stray path that humanity has ventured upon by using technology to make themselves all look alike. Instead of celebrating a larger, more distinctive nose, some find vanity compels them to plastic surgery so their nose will look like someone whom they admire. Yes, it is truly beneficial to exercise, tone up muscle, take into consideration dietary regimen, and so forth. To do so for health reasons is admirable, but to do so in order to look, act and feel like everyone else of the same age, gender, background or social status does one a great injustice and fails to fulfill the Intention Individuation.
Society may look kindly upon someone who does not conform to society’s standards of decency, economic efficiency, or beauty. That does not mean that individual so looked upon is defective in some way, but actually may be more greatly fulfilling the Intention Individuation than the person who condescends toward him. So look to your differences and celebrate them. Be proud that you are the only one who looks like you. Be proud that your thoughts are distinctly your own and not mere reflections of popular thought. Be not afraid of differing in your activities even though society may not think they are appropriate to one of your age, gender, or health. Remember that your differences add to the variety sought by the Universe. If your physical eccentricity makes you look different from most others, celebrate the fact that you are fulfilling some special part of Intention. To correct a deformity surgically to add to one’s health or function is one thing. To do so from vanity is frustrating what you are to accomplish on your soul’s mission.
One word of caution, however: these words are not meant to enable you to do harm to others or yourself just to be different. As we always teach, work on the positive side of life. Encourage life. Support life. Celebrate life. Most of all admire the differences in others and celebrate yourselves.
