Session #60 – October 5, 1985 Circle during Silverthistle’s Healing Retreat At Kiwani’s Mt. Hood Camp
Present: Twenty-nine retreat participants
Following a short meditation led by Bonnie and singing of “Open my eyes.”:
Silverthistle: Good evening. It is our pleasure to be with you once more. We have looked forward to this time. We have shared with you your studies, your struggles, and your efforts, and we reward you greatly. You have done well. I come to be with you now to perhaps share from the Source as it were. But even so, as the instrument has talked with you, so have I. You knew not when I spoke, but I spoke. And now I speak that you know me. Let us deal with your questions. Let me serve you.
Owen: Silverthistle, I have tried to arrange these questions first in the order that pertains most to our studies, and then gradually tapering into more general questions. The first question: (Questions submitted earlier by retreat attendees.) “I would like to address the energy pathways given to Gloria. How do these correspond to or differ from acupuncture, acupressure, Jin Shin Do meridians?”
Silverthistle: In actuality they differ little. The difference is similar to that difference of expressing the same thought in different words. For these particular treatments, it has been my experience that these points work for those purposes most effectively. The other disciplines could be used with noticeable effect with our techniques.
“When using the blowing technique for back, leg, and sciatic pain, do you puff right at the indicated dots on the diagram that Gloria provided us with, or do you move the puff in the direction of the arrows shown? And what decides when you puff directly or when you move with the puff?”
Silverthistle: At that lower back meridian it is most effective to move along the meridian rather than stimulating one single point. Most troubles in the physical organism in this area stem from poor circulation. Thus it is not a point to be stimulated, but the meridian. (“Is this more a puff or blow and move or a moving puff?”) It could be done in either manner, providing the puffs are in groups of three.
“Will a second retreat for advanced instruction on the material that we have received this weekend be set up in the near future for continuing these studies?” (It would be our greatest delight to serve you in this way.)
“When using the blowing technique, what specific technique can be used to induce sleep or to de-energize?” (The parallel meridians on either side of the spine in the back shoulder area should be stimulated downward, rather than upward.)
“Can the blowing or other techniques we have learned today completely relieve someone with intense headaches located in the third-eye area? Which techniques are best?” (The answer is “yes”. The treatment in the case of severe pain might need repetition. The treatment is a steady breath moved to the right, and a second move to the left, and a third move downwardly, repeated three times total with rest between.)
“Can the techniques we learned today dissolve activated shells around the chakras, and is there a direct way to use them for specific chakras? Can you give us any other information on this? (The answer is “yes”, and for self-treatment, the sound technique is most effective using the cupped hands with fingers interlaced as a mirror and directing the sound so that it glances off of the palms and into the chakras to be treated, as a light would reflect obliquely. Begin at the bottom chakra, treating the gonadal area, and moving upwards one at a time. Do not pass the throat chakra with treatments until the lowest two are free.) “Would this mean possibly repeating the treatments on the lower chakras before starting the first on the throat chakra? (The lower chakras must be treated repeatedly until freed.)
“We have had sessions on sound as related to speech and gain in power and understanding through practice of certain vocal sounds. Can playing sounds on musical instruments or recordings aid us in reaching higher levels of consciousness or in healing? What types of musical instruments are preferred? What types of music?” (Mechanically produced sound has its advantages, but is not creative as is the human voice. The technique of sound can be combined with instruments, especially stringed instruments and percussion. Certain beats are suitable for certain treatments, but that would have to be dealt with at a time in which we could make a longer dissertation.)
`”Do we each have a specific color which we should wear, as we each have a specific musical pitch which we should use in speech? If so, how do we discover our own color?” (Each pitch has a vibratory frequency which matches the vibratory frequency of color. Match your color to your frequency of sound, depending upon the desired end.) “Is there a spectrum or formula or reference that might be used for matching sound to color?” (There are many. Again you seek knowledge which cannot be delivered in a few moments.)
“Does the group of vital bodies join the physical body at the moment of conception, at birth, at some point during gestation, and if during gestation, at what point?” (This has all been given before. We recommend that you read.)
“When one passes on, what happens to all his outer subtle bodies?” (That is what passes on.) “Are they absorbed? This is the outer bodies. I presume this is the Mental Body and the Creative Body. Are they absorbed by the Ego and the Soul? (Ultimately all race manifestation is so absorbed. But at the moment of transition of an individual, the Desire Body, the Emotional Body, and the Vital Body take the memories of this incarnation and the identity with which they were connected on into further experience.)
“Can these treatments be combined with treatment on a Radionics (Digitron) machine? (These healing techniques can be combined with any other techniques successfully.)
“In certain teachings the formula Yod Heh Van Heh describes the four aspects of mystical breathing. From this formula one may derive techniques for accumulating active and passive life energy, solar and lunar currents, and magnetic and electric fluids with the breath. If there is any validity to this doctrine of the breath, how might it affect the healing techniques associated with Key #1, Aspiration?” (One who is versed in this, who understands what goes forward, can utilize that awareness to great effect with these techniques.)
Owen: Now a more personal question, but it may be illustrative of information that we can all use:
“Can you tell me the cause of my back, elbow, and foot problem, and how I can apply the healing techniques I’ve learned today?” (First, you must be willing to be honest with yourself. You must seek in your environment that which you project. Insofar as you fail to recognize yourself projected, you cannot successfully maintain the adjustment that will alleviate all of your symptoms. Any of these techniques applied at regular intervals, will assist you in establishing your energy systems pattern in accordance with your individual design, whereupon the adjustments made may last long enough for you to get a clearer picture of what you are projecting, which is coming back to you in this form.)
Owen: We have discussed today the personal responsibilities for controlling our own activities and our own thought. The question is: “Where does social and political activism come in? What are our duties?” (As given before, one has a responsibility to that social group into which he chose to be born. At sometime past, the individual has been involved in the creation of the social pattern he now wishes to change. Your responsibility lies in effective communication with your elected representatives, as you have chosen to live in a culture so governed. There are channels of communication that are non-disruptive to the social organism. As you well know, we do not condone civil disobedience as it generates violence in spite of one’s intention to be peaceful.)
“Regarding the Temple of Initiation: I have read of the “Temple of Initiation” in the great pyramid in ancient Egypt. Is this one and the same, or what is the relationship?” (The Egyptian Temple of Initiation is one of many earthly manifestations of this Temple of Initiation to which we all belong, and through which we all are working.) “Could I ask how long the Temple of Initiation has been in existence?” (Beyond your concept of time.)
“Is it possible to connect by thought the consciousness of two persons to effect healing? If so, can it be accomplished without first getting that individual’s consent if that individual is now an adult and you are his parent?” (When the child reaches the point of independent choice, parental control must be relinquished. That entity has come for its own purpose. If it chooses to be disabled, to be ill, the fact that you are a parent gives you no more right to interfere than the right to step into a stranger’s life. Yes, mental connections can be used to heal. But healing can only be affected when that healing is desired and asked for. Many treatments are asked for without the desire being present to be healed, and consequently, no healing occurs. The desire must be there to not only be whole and organized, but also to accept the responsibility which goes with such a state of well being.)
“Is it right for man to make his own decisions, to ask in prayer for his own will to be done, or should you always ask for God’s direction?” (You are given that you invoke higher power. So long as you choose to operate on your own will, you will have less than the success that you desire.)
“May we bless and release others without invading their space, and is this helpful?” (Releasing and wishing well is most suitable. So we teach you. Let go. Relinquish.)
“How can we get in touch with our thought patterns that keep us out of alignment, even after chiropractic treatment?” (You have spent many hours this day listening and thinking about values, about proper modes of thought, proper modes of healing, proper modes of wanting. These are all excellent measuring sticks against which you can check out your daily ordinary thoughts, wishes and feelings.)
“As we perceive shortcomings in others, which we understand is a mirror of our own shortcomings, may we work on our mirror shortcomings in our own mind, and invite them to join us? Is that being judgmental?” (Yes, because you are still seeing shortcomings in the other, although you are acknowledging that they are your own shortcomings. Once having such acknowledgment, why can you not be satisfied to work upon your own, and let the other deal with his own?)
“What is the simplest way to contact your spirit guide? (That is “guides”, plural. Ask repeatedly, and demand, as we have given. Response must be rendered. Talk. Speak. Use your sounds. The voice you use extends not only through your physical universe, but moves outward into other universe through the ripple effect. Use your voice as a telephone bell.)
“My husband, who centers himself in the sensory world of taste, touch, smell, often complains of pain in the area of the third eye (his words). Does this mean that he is becoming more aware of spiritual realities?” (Rather the reverse. Pain occurs in the third eye when one attempts to shut it down.)
“How can we help people of this time to be more open to good things and not be so fearful?” (By not being fearful ones’ self. As you radiate your stance in life, that joy of courage and fearlessness, you implant that impression on those who see you, and they pass that on, as you studied lastly.)
“There is a spirit entity called Ramtha, who is channeling through a woman here in Washington State. Is it proper for us to pay attention to his teachings, or is he one of the spirit entities we are warned to guard against?” (Again, I must repeat, the source is not the important thing, but the message. If you find a truth that lives, that sustains, that does not fail you, it matters not the source.)
“Since we know that referring to God as a “Father” perpetuates a patriarchal society, why was God referred to as a father so often in the bible, and how do we gently make this change in our society to become more balanced?” (This is because at the time the oral teachings were committed to writing, it was done by a patriarchal society. Only through usage, the words you choose to speak, will you change this image.)
“I have the capacity to channel and record information using effortless writing. Health and solutions to medical problems, such as disease and virus that plague the populace, are received. How do I get this information to those researchers who can utilize it when I’m not connected with medicine or any related occupation?” (Your job is to record it, as at this time much of our teaching is only being recorded. The dissemination is a very weak signal in a vast ocean of intellect. But like your scripture, which at one time consisted merely of letters exchanged among confidants, so will your writing live after you and reach the hands of those who can use it.)
“What can you tell us about using quartz crystals in healing?” (Are you prepared to spend a week or so with me?) (Owen: That would be a pleasure but probably not all at one sitting.)
“Is it possible or likely that a physical entity who passes beyond this earthly life will reincarnate in a different solar system or in another universe?” (All the time.)
“If one desired to be cremated, should there be a three-day waiting period after death? If one has a living will donating body parts, how does this affect transition?” (It certainly mixes up the energies. As you well know, we do not approve of cremation. Those body parts which escape such a fate, carry knowledge, memory, information coded into them which then is not lost unless the subsequent recipient is also cremated.) (Owen: Is this to say, then, that the donation of body parts is highly beneficial.) Cum si, cum sa. (Laughter.)
“Should we pray for the dead?” (Yes.) How should this be done, and what effect does it have? Do we have the right to influence their situation? Do we have an obligation to influence?” (You have the power and the obligation to encourage them on their way even as you encourage each other while still in this body. Just because they have departed this temporary habitation does not diminish their existence or their need for intercourse with their kind.)
“Is there a ‘music of the spheres’?” (Yes.)
“Is there a recommended diet for one who wishes to reach a higher level of consciousness? Are there diet prohibitions?” (Not essentially so. The diet must depend upon the consciousness. Given certain fulfillments of the life quality, one could consume anything without detriment to the organism.)
“What is the best mode of self-healing to affect a permanent cure of a lower intestinal fissure?” (The Tai Chi exercise recommended for this community study will generate that eagerness to the whole in that portion of the body.)
“Lately I have been inspired to begin organizing a special healing circle designed to channel group energy and send healing energy to people who request it. Which specific keys would help in developing group techniques for channeling adequate energy, focusing it appropriately, and getting it to the person to be healed?” (Begin at the beginning. Master the techniques of breathing, and then move on, Key after subsequent Key.)
“To learn the color that goes with the pitch, can we simply figure out the color by beginning with “C” as red and work up the scale?” (If “C” is red, that is one way.)
“We have been charged not to interfere with another’s karmic pathway. We have also been charged to active compassion. It is a fine line to differentiate. Could you help us determine the difference?” (You can be actively compassionate without changing the direction that individual takes. If one chooses to eat ice cream with a rotten tooth, you can empathize with the pain without sympathizing with the way it got there.)
“What is the best healing method to restore hearing?” (Breath and sound used at the joint in the jaw bones, in this particular instance. There is a misalignment of the jaw.)
Owen: Silverthistle, this is our last question. I’d like to say on behalf of the group that we greatly appreciate all the effort that you have gone to to prepare this session for us, and particularly to come and have this great visit with us. At this time is it your pleasure to answer questions from the audience, or are there additional things that you perceive that we need to hear from you?
Silverthistle: Firstly, to answer your first statement, I would not have missed this. Secondly, inasmuch as the instrument and I have formed a different relationship, this one remains nearly as difficult as in the beginning. I have grown accustomed to our new relationship and enjoy it greatly. I would at this time rather draw our meeting to a close and suggest to you that you watch for me as the instrument completes the lessons tomorrow. I have been with you throughout. You have not recognized when I spoke as opposed to when the instrument spoke. Have you not noticed that at times she had to read my words, and at times spoke freely? If you can bear this labored delivery, I would be most pleased to lead you in a closing meditation. (Owen: We would appreciate it very much.) Settle yourselves to be at peace. Bring back to your minds that beautiful golden bubble our dear sister brought to you earlier. See in the side of that bubble a sliding door through which you may step. Move out of the bubble, and out of the building in your visualization. Go out among the trees which surround you. Find a tree to your liking. Approach the tree gently. Remember the tree also has subtle bodies. Approach the life flow. That tree is a living entity as you are. Expand your awareness to make contact with the spirit of the tree. Tell the tree that you love it, and feel the tree return your love. When you are sad or lonely, downhearted or blue, you may go into nature, make contact with some natural thing and receive comfort, because it also lives. Because these natural things live, they benefit by your appreciation and by your love. You cannot make this intimate contact with a living, natural thing without experiencing a change in your own consciousness. Spend a moment with your tree as you would spend a moment with a very dear friend. The magic of this connection is that the feeling of community can be taken with you even though you leave the presence of the tree. Tell your tree “goodbye” and wish it well, and return to the golden bubble. Seat yourself within the bubble, and commune with yourself for a moment about the healing you have experienced through the contact with the tree. Now allow the large bubble to return to the individual bubbles so that you are encased within your own golden glow. Keep that healing, that peace of the tree, within you. Keep the glow around you. And as you complete the hours of this community study, glow, radiate that peace, that golden light. As you share that light throughout your remaining hours together, you will find great enrichment which you will take back to your ordinary day, and carry that blessing with you forever. And so I bid you adieu. My blessing and my presence are with you. Good night.
